Required Skills -

• High school diploma or GED
• Able to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet all shift
• Can read a tape measure and calipers, and work off a work order
• Shows up, on time, every day
• Takes pride in the work and pays attention to detail
• Communicates clearly and works effectively with supervisors and peers

Nice to have, not required:

• Shop or manufacturing experience of any kind
• Forklift experience or certification
• Any exposure to lean manufacturing
• 1 to 3 years on a Bystronic or a similar CNC laser
• Comfortable reading prints and technical drawings
• Solid on machine setup and troubleshooting
• Know your sheet metal types, gauges, and how they behave
• Basic computer skills. BySoft experience is a big plus.

We need someone on the Bystronic laser, and we will hire at either level.

• If you have run a laser before, you will set up, program, and run the machine on your own.
• If you have not, we will train you. You will start out helping the operator, moving material and checking parts, and take on more of the machine as you pick it up. There is a real path here to running it yourself.

What you will be doing

• Loading and unloading sheet metal on the laser
• Sorting, stacking, and labeling finished parts
• Checking parts against the print and flagging anything that looks off
• Helping with changeovers
• Moving material with a pallet jack. We will get you forklift trained if you need it.
• Keeping the area clean and organized, following our 5S standards
• Working off blueprints, work orders, and the production schedule
• Following safety procedures and wearing your PPE

Once you are running the machine, that also means:

• Setting up and programming the Bystronic
• Dialing in settings for cut quality and speed
• Routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
• Checking dimensions with calipers, micrometers, and a tape
• Machine start-up, operation, and maintenance
• Reading and interpreting blueprints
• Converting drawing files to program files, and creating and modifying programs as needed, including nesting functions
• Selecting designated raw materials and loading/unloading parts using a vacuum material lifter/placer

Compensation :

$18/hr. to $22/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
