Senior Laser Systems Technician

A client of ours is seeking an experienced Laser Systems Technician to support the assembly, alignment, integration, and testing of advanced optical and solid-state laser hardware. This is a highly hands-on laboratory position supporting prototype development as well as completed systems.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and integrate solid-state laser and optical systems
• Perform precision optical and laser alignment
• Build and align laser resonators, amplifiers, and optical assemblies
• Troubleshoot laser hardware and optical performance issues
• Support prototype builds, R&D activities, and system integration
• Perform laser diagnostics, performance testing, and characterization
• Assist with acceptance and qualification testing
• Work from engineering drawings, sketches, procedures, and technical direction
• Document system configurations, test results, and alignment information
• Maintain safe and organized laser laboratory practices

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with solid-state lasers, high-power optics, or complex optical systems
• Strong experience with optical alignment, laser diagnostics, and laboratory equipment
• Background supporting R&D, prototype development, or low-volume technical hardware
• Ability to independently assemble and troubleshoot complex optical systems
• Experience with nonlinear optics, SHG, OPO, OPA, or frequency conversion is a plus
• Aerospace, defense, government, or ruggedized optical system experience is desirable
• Degree or technical certification is preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience will be considered
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
